Quick FAQ

Short answers before you dig deeper

Does a positive margin mean delivery will work?

No. It means only that the entered footprint is smaller than the entered rectangle in that orientation. Height, bends, packaging and handling are not part of the calculation.

Are the margins measured on each side?

They are totals along each axis. A total width margin of 20 cm could mean 10 cm on either side if centered, or a different split if placed off-center.

Calculate the two floor orientations

Enter four positive measurements in a single unit, such as centimetres. Use the outer assembled footprint, not seat width or an internal storage measurement. The free rectangle is the space left after you reserve access and account for obstacles.

The rotated result swaps the item width and depth. It does not simulate how the item rotates inside the room or travels there. Zero means an edge touches your chosen boundary; a negative margin means the footprint extends beyond it.

Save the entered dimensions with the result so another person can reproduce the calculation.

Make an unfinished-route record

Walk the proposed route from the building entrance to the final room. Name each opening and change of direction. A missing measurement should remain visibly missing rather than being replaced with a guess that makes the sheet look complete.

For an elevator, the door opening and internal space are different measurements. For stairs, include landings, overhead clearance and protruding rails. Share photographs and a sketch with the relevant delivery team when the route requires an assessment.
